According to the TG4 series "No Béarla II", the point was to compose a pop song in Irish that was at least as good as pop songs in English. And I think this one succeeds admirably. I'm 42 so I'm hardly the young hip demographic that you'd need to hit to make young Irish less ashamed of or disgusted with Irish (plus I'm only Irish-American), but I still think it's pretty toe-tappy, pretty nice.
